Our Futures Trading Results. Week 33 2021

Summary:

  • Our week in the markets using COT Strategy: -$13,200
  • Our week in the markets using Champion COT Strategy: +$21,218

A gain of +$8,018. That’s the trading result from our commodity and futures trading according to COT data in week number 33. Hello and welcome to InsiderWeek. In this video I’m going to show to you the trades of this week and the corresponding results. At the beginning of the week our portfolio consisted of two open positions namely four long contracts and Natural Gas and four short contracts in the 30-year T-Bonds. During the week we were stopped out from the Natural Gas trade. We tried to re-enter this market and we were stopped out again. So we close off this week with a portfolio that consists of one single open position namely in the T-Bonds. Let’s have a look at the trades individually.

First of all Natural Gas: You know this trade already from our previous results videos. We entered this market in week number 30 and unfortunately last Monday we were stopped out with a loss of -$10,560. One day afterwards on Tuesday we tried to re-enter the market and we were stopped out on the same day. This produced an additional loss of -$2,640. Basically the general bullish setup is still intact and the long-term uptrend is still active. The only thing that’s missing so far is the right timing. We will further observe this market very carefully and if an entry possibility appears we will take the chance to take this trade.

The next trade that we conducted and that we are still holding an open position in is the 30 years T-Bonds. We haven’t seen the price move that we expected so far. After we’ve seen a lower low we expected price to move in the signal direction. Unfortunately this didn’t happen. Instead the price moved up again and now it seems that the market consolidates in a sideways range. We will analyze this market today and take a decision on what to do with this open position.

As always a few words on our second strategy the so called champion strategy. We started into the week with two open positions namely in New Zealand Dollar and in Sugar. During the week we could close both positions and realized a total gain of +$21,280. By realizing this gain we were able to reach a new all-time high on our champion account. The equity amounts now to $125,219. This is compared to our starting capital of $50,000 dollars in November 2020 a large increase. By showing to you how both our strategies COT strategy and the champion strategy perform over time you can see the diversification effect, especially in this week. These two strategies help us to diversify and stabilize our equity growth.

Finally let’s have a look at the CRB index the commodity price index as usual. You can see that the CRB index is going into a correction. We expect this to be really a correction. As a result we expect the macro trend to be still active.
