Our Futures Trading Results. Week 1 2022

Summary:

  • Our week in the markets using COT Strategy: +$0
  • Our week in the markets using Champion COT Strategy: +$0

A net result of +$0 in the first trading week of the year. Welcome to InsiderWeek. In this video, I’m going to show to you our trades of this week and the corresponding results. We started into the week with an empty portfolio from last year. During the week, we opened a position in Soybean Oil. Here we entered a position of 20 long contracts. Let’s have a look at the trade individually.

Soybean Oil, weekly chart: Here you can see that we received a lot of buy signals on a similar level. The level is around 55. You can also see that seasonal trend is increasing. On the daily chart you can see that we entered the market and we used the correction to take a long trade.

Let’s have a look at the second COT strategy – the so called champion strategy. Here, we also started into the week with an empty portfolio and at the end of this week we have one open position, namely 5 long contracts in Platinum. On the daily chart of Platinum, you can see that we entered this market. This trade was in harmony with the seasonal trend, which was increasing, as well as COT data. At the moment we can’t see any price move into our direction. So we will observe this market very carefully during the next trading week.

Next, let’s have a look at CRB index as usual. This is the commodity price index. As you can see, seasonal trend is increasing and price made a new high. Because of that, we expect to see further price swings to the upside. As a result, we want to have more positions on the long side than on the short side of the market for the next trading weeks.

Next, let’s have a look at the 20-Year Commodity Price Cycle. Here you can see the 20-Year cycle for the commodity prices. In this chart you can see that in 2022 we are currently at the beginning of a new cycle. This chart indicates as well that we may see commodity prices increasing.

HERE you can find a summary of all individual trades and a comparison of the results of both strategies:
